Custom Facial
About The Procedure:
Customized to fit client's concerns; includes deep cleansing, steam, exfoliation, extractions (if needed), customized mask, and LED light therapy
Dermaplaning
About The Procedure:
Dermaplaning is a technique used to smooth the skin, remove dead skin cells, and get rid of peach fuzz on the face. This is an ideal service for those who are going to an event and want a smoother application of make-up. This also helps to exfoliate and improve skin texture.
Back Facial
About The Procedure:
One of the areas hardest to reach and treat is our backs. “Bacne” is bothersome year-round, especially in the warmer months as we head into special and outdoor events.
Since the skin on our backs is thicker than our face, pores are more prominent, and easier for them to get clogged. We have created a back facial to help exfoliate dead skin cells, extract whiteheads, and apply a clarifying mask to help refresh this area.
Book a consult now to get your confidence “back” on track.
Dermaplaning & Facial FAQs
What Should I Consider Before Getting a Facial?
Before you get a facial, we suggest connecting with a professional to discuss your skin texture, any conditions you have, and your treatment goals. We also suggest sharing your current skincare routine, so you can be given personalized recommendations on anything to avoid before your facial.
It’s also a good idea to consider different types of facials, treatment time, recovery time, and the expected results. Ingredients of facials are also important considerations; if you have any allergies, be sure to tell your provider beforehand to prevent any reactions.
There are many alternatives we can use for facials if you happen to have an allergy. The goal is to always make you feel comfortable and relaxed as we nourish your skin. Being open about any allergies and skin conditions allow us to customize your facial experience, ensuring you are completely safe during treatment and satisfied with your results.
Is There Anything to Avoid Before Getting a Facial?
You should avoid exfoliating, threading, waxing, tanning, and any laser treatments at least 48 hours before a facial. Those with sunburns should also reschedule to prevent any unnecessary irritation and possible damage to their skin.
If you’ve had injections or dermal filler within the last 24 hours, you’ll need to wait at least 48 hours to prevent the facial massage from shifting your beautiful results.
Overall, facials are super easy to get and don’t require a lot of skin prep. Generally, we just want to make sure your skin is healthy, free of irritation, and not currently affected by products or treatments that could interact with the facial ingredients.
You also want to come in for your facial with a bare face — give your skin a break for the day, so we can take great care of it!
When you book a facial with us at SomaSou MedSpa, we will always walk you through the process and help you get ready for treatment with no worries!

Can You Exfoliate After Dermaplaning?
No, we don’t recommend exfoliating or applying acid-based products for at least two weeks. Dermaplaning is like a hyper-exfoliant for your skin, so you won’t need to worry about it for at least 14 days after your session.
Avoid any retinols, glycolic acid, and other skincare products with acid. We’ll give you a complete dermaplaning aftercare guide to ensure you can take care of your skin and ensure the best results post-treatment.
How Long Does It Take the Skin to Heal After Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning has no downtime, so you can get right back to your day after treatment. However, you will need to make some adjustments to your skincare routine. Namely, you want to avoid exfoliants, scrubbing, and any products with acid that could harm your skin for up to two weeks.
You’ll also want to avoid sun exposure since your newly exposed skin cells are more sensitive to UV rays, and they could become damaged. You should apply sunscreen (SPF 50) directly after treatment, and ensure you wear it every day afterward. A nice sun hat also does wonders!
